Appolinaire NKEZE

Senior Associate

Appolinaire is a Senior Associate in the Firm.

He specializes in International Trade Law and Financial Technology.

He is a Ph.D. Researcher in International Trade and Investment Law in Africa at the University of Dschang in Cameroon. He holds a Master’s degree (LLM) in Business Law. He has also completed training in Contract Management at the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom (UK).

He also completed professional training on procurement and logistics law and Corporate Governance.

Appolinaire previously acted as a corporate law associate in a leading law firm in Cameroon where he extensively worked on mergers and acquisitions deals, competition regulatory compliance, and advisory.

With his expertise in International Business Law and international trade, he was among the key team members advising The World Bank Group and The World Trade Organization on the trade in services policies in Cameroon for the AfCFTA (African Continental Free Trade Area) negotiations.

He advises major exporters on the specific sectors Cameroon has a comparative advantage to trade within Africa and beyond and on the regulatory conditions and procedures to comply with the export rules promoted by the Cameroon National AfCFTA Implementation Committee, as part of the National Strategy for the Implementation of AfCFTA.

He handles the complex legal issues surrounding cross-border transactions, corporate governance, corporate finance, and business regulation. He advises on a wide range of matters including anti-dumping, trade barrier regulations, customs regulations, export controls, preferential trade arrangements, and investment agreements. The contract of carriage of goods by road within the OHADA jurisdictions also forms part of his areas of expertise.

He provides commercially sound advice in mergers and acquisitions, technology transactions, finance, and capital markets in the CEMAC zone.

He is an approved and certified World Bank Consultant.
