Brands Licensing Africa_Côte d’Ivoire successfully organized the First Brand Licensing Fair in Africa in Abidjan, October 23-24, 2024

On October 23–24, 2024, Brands Licensing Africa – Côte d’Ivoire successfully organized the first-ever Brand Licensing Fair in Africa, held at the Parc des Expositions in Abidjan.

The event was hosted under the distinguished patronage of the Government of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, represented by Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Robert Beugré Mambé and Minister of Trade and Industry Mr. Souleymane Diarrassouba, in collaboration with La Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie de Côte d’Ivoire Officiel and La Maison de l’Afrique, represented by Mr. Youssouf Camara.

This landmark fair brought together African producers and entrepreneurs with global brand owners and licensing experts from New York, London, Paris, Madrid, Dubai, Dakar, Cotonou, Douala, and Abidjan to explore the vast potential of brand licensing across the continent.

As a recognized expert in the fight against trademark infringement in the OAPI zone and in goods and services trade under the AfCFTA (#ZLECAF), our Managing Partner, Danielle Moukouri, had the honor of co-hosting two insightful conferences alongside Maura J. Regan, President of Licensing International, and Anne-Marie PECORARO of UGGC Avocats.

The fair concluded with a special celebration marking the 50th anniversary of La Maison de l’Afrique, in the presence of Her Excellency Madame Kandia Kamissoko Camara, President of the French Senate.

We were privileged to share inspiring moments with Charles Owona Awono, Maura J. Regan, Laurent Taieb, Anne-Marie PECORARO, Andrea BOKE, Patrick Epee, Daniel Avener, Olouwafèmi KIDJO, Claire Janin, Philippe Guinaudeau, Aïssatou MAR, Abel Kouame, and many more.

A special mention to the brilliant Sharon Weisman, who delivered an unforgettable piece.   watch it here.
