Charting Cameroon’s AI Future: D. MOUKOURI & Partners Selected to Draft National Artificial Intelligence Strategy

We are proud to announce that, following a public call for tenders, D. MOUKOURI & Partners has been selected by the Government of Cameroon, represented by the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, to lead the development of Cameroon’s National Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence.

This appointment is both an honor and a responsibility we carry with conviction, particularly at a time when artificial intelligence is reshaping global systems, economies, and societies. As a law firm deeply committed to digital transformation, innovation, and public interest, we are ready to help shape a strategy that will guide Cameroon into the next chapter of its digital future.

Our Mandate

Under the leadership of Maître Danielle Moukouri, a lawyer specializing in digital law and technology policy, our firm has been entrusted to:

  • Formulate a global vision of the national AI strategy
  • Propose an implementation and financing plan for the AI strategy,
  • Draw up the government’s AI roadmap and propose technical, regulatory, financial and technological guidelines, following consultations with experts in these fields at national level.

Why This Matters

Artificial Intelligence presents both opportunities and challenges, especially in emerging economies. At the recent Global Summit for Action on Artificial Intelligence, held in Paris on February 10–11, 2025, the global consensus was clear: inclusivity, accessibility, and responsible governance must be at the heart of AI development.

Our role is to ensure that Cameroon’s approach to AI is forward-looking, ethical, and people-centered, one that empowers innovation while safeguarding rights, promotes national data sovereignty, and aligns with global best practices without losing sight of our local realities.

A Shared Commitment to Progress

We believe this strategy will not only position Cameroon as a regional leader in responsible AI adoption but also contribute to a stronger, digitally resilient Africa. As we embark on this journey, we remain committed to transparency, collaboration, and excellence. We thank the Government of Cameroon for their trust and look forward to working closely with all stakeholders to build an AI future that works for all Cameroonians.
