For the past 12 years the Orange Group, leading telecom operator, has been promoting the Orange Social Venture Prize in Africa and the Middle-East (POESAM) that rewards start-ups in the Information and Communication Technologies sector. In 12 years, about 12,000 applications have been received, resulting in 36 start-ups winning financial and technical support, and 86 projects coming to life.
For this 13th edition, the Grand Jury of the Orange Social Venture Prize in Africa and the Middle East (OSVP), was chaired by Danielle MOUKOURI DJENGUE, Managing Partner of D. MOUKOURI AND PARTNERS law firm, a firm recognised for its pioneering technology law practice in Cameroon and Central Africa.
For the finals held on 20th July 2023 in Douala, Cameroon, The lucky winners were: -1st prize: Adinkra Jeunesse, by Armelle Touko -2nd prize: Clinic Home, by Dr. Philippe Ohandja Ayina -3rd prize: Nkwa App, by Akwo Ashangndowah -Special Women’s Prize: Services for Aged, by Dr. Ngnie Kamga Olivia. The startups founders above have qualified to present their projects during the international contest that will gather the winners from 17 countries in Africa and the Middle East in which the leading telecom company Orange operates, namely Cameroon, Morocco, Madagascar, Ivory Coast, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Egypt, Guinea Conakry, Jordan, Liberia, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Tunisia.
